About

Hello! I’m Sayan Nath, a PhD student at the Interactions Lab and a Research Assistant at the University of Calgary. I completed my MSc at the DISA Lab, University of Calgary, and earned my undergraduate degree from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT).

I was a Google Summer of Code (GSoC) contributor in 2021 and 2022, working with TensorFlow, where I gained hands-on experience contributing to large-scale machine learning systems and open-source research tooling.

Professionally, I have worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Scaler, Blend, Codebugged, and Juppiter Labs AI, focusing on model development, deployment, and production-grade ML pipelines. Alongside industry experience, I have held several leadership roles, including Lead of GDSC KIIT, President of the CodeChef KIIT Chapter, and Machine Learning Lead at the IoT Lab, where I led technical initiatives and mentored students.

I was also selected as a Mentor for the Google Developer Program Exchange, supporting developers and students through technical guidance and community engagement.

My research and technical interests primarily lie in machine learning, with additional interests in backend development and DevOps, particularly in building scalable, reliable, and efficient systems.
